Wouldn't it be awful if this was actually foreshadowing Vecna delivering Will a final blow -- has he noticed that everyone is forgetting him? How even his own mother forgot his birthday? Has he noticed how his sister seems to be the perfect child, the perfect sibling, someone who brought his mom together with Hopper (where his dad left because of him), she made their family whole again after he broke it, she makes Mike happy in a way he never can. Someone undeniably better to show how unneeded he is -- and then for Vecna to tell him it's because he is a mistake, and in order to save everyone, he needs to correct that mistake and erase himself and that's the reason for birthdaygate, because of that butterfly effect.

and it is NOT that will is shorter and therefore seeing a lower part of the door without gaps because a.) we see from the OUTSIDE pov when will runs into the shed that there ARE gaps ALL THE WAY down the door and b.) we can use the horizontal board as a marker- look at it in hopper’s screenshot vs in will’s. you can see it in both and so it’s not a matter of will being shorter, those are NOT THE SAME FUCKING DOOR. In s2 one of the promo posters was Will opening a door to the upside down. IN early s2 he walked out of the arcade, opening a door outside and having a vision of the Mind Flayer in the upside down. Idk what significance they have, but doors mean something in this universe; for some reason esp to Will.
